what's a MERLION?? im just curious

When we met my cousin from Singapore to have a vacation here in Manila for just only 1 week, she gave us pasalubong like souvenir shirts from Singapore and some chocolates. One of the chocolates she gave to us is looked like the symbol or logo of Singapore that is so popular and also the trademark in Singapore. It is a MERLION. When I'm about to eat that milk chocolate I looked at it for just a few seconds. I'm just curious about that Merlion thing in Singapore. It's a creature with the head of a lion and a body of a fish. I make a guess that there's a great history of Merlion in Singapore. That long time ago, there was a fisherman fishing in the sea who saw a Merlion, half mermaid and half lion. (That's why it called a merlion) And it was the issue in the town. ting! I'm just making a wild guess! (LOL) since I don't know that time what that creature is all about. But this time I know what Merlion is. I surf in the internet to know what it is all about.

By the way, i just want to share with you first what Merlion looks like.
(I know others knew it already)

It says, that Merlion is a creature with a head of a lion and a body of a fish. the word "MER" meaning the sea and "lion" itself. The fish body comes from Singapore's ancient name back when it was a fishing village called Temasek meaning the "sea town", while the lion head represents Singapore's original name Singapura meaning the "lion city". Legend has it that name when someone saw the unknown creature which he mistook as a lion.

So, that was the meaning of Merlion in Singapore. Also, long time ago it is a fishing village since that country is a small nation.

Now i know what Merlion is.. I dont have to make a wild guess. LOL

I observed during these couple of weeks me and my ate always arguing for something even in small things and it just turned out to a huge fight. Maybe I was wrong for disrespecting her but I was just saying my opinions, my point of views or expressing what i feel but she never listen to me. For her its a manner of disrespect. She even never supported me in doing what I want and in return she make bad impressions, she judges what I want and she's a pessimistic. (sigh) "How can you continue doing things that makes you satisfied and feel contentment when there are obstacles in doing what you want?" (maybe my life would SUCK). All I wanted is to be appreciated in what I'm doing and what i love. This is my life, they cannot dictate what I have to live for. They're just the one who will guide me through but still I'm the one that makes decisions. right? I'm not a baby anymore I'm now a lady ready to face life on her own.---> an independent lady.

i don't know what to say.. i don't know how to start. things are confusing me right now. its a love matter. i start to fall in love again. and still don't know if it is real love. i dont know if i still know how to love again. i don't want to be hurt but you're too insentive. Am I expecting too much from you? or I'm just used on the things that you do to me yesterday? Yesterday you're too far but i find joy and contentment. today you're near with me but i find no joy but sorrow.Tears fall from my eyes.dont know what to do. dont know what to say. Things change since you're near with me. is it real love? is it you're in love with me?or am i dreaming? yeah, its true, you're near with me now but still you're too far, its just that i can't feel you. i can't feel that you're here beside me.wanting me more and more. you said, you want me and me and nothing but me. but you're numb you're just too numb. :"(

yummy ice cream and strawberries!!!

Just ate ice cream today because I'm craving of something cold and sweet since it was too hot today.This ice cream is so yummy. It is nestle yogurt ice cream not that sweet but its so creamy. I enjoyed eating this strawberry flavored and kinda "bitin"hehe..its a one size serving but I'm "bitin".

You should try this one it so creamy and yummy! :)

The next one is real strawberries!! Kuya went to Baguio and his "pasalubong" to us is real and sweet strawberries!!:) Mama decided to make a jam out of this strawberries since Kuya didn't buy strawberry jam.

While I made it a dessert for our lunch :)
Kuya got the sweetest and reddish strawberries!
because sometimes when you buy strawberries there are not as delicious
that you're expecting..Sometimes it turned out unsatisfied. :(

So yummy! :) I put condensed milk on it and chill it.. and it is deliciously chilled strawberries! :D

perfect for lunch and dinner :)

What is Holy Week?

Holy Week is the final week of Lent. It commemorates the events of our Lord's last week before His death. The main festive of the holy week are Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Vigil (Holy Saturday).

Holy week start in Palm Sunday. On this day, Jesus, accompanied by His disciples, entered the city of Jerusalem in triumph. It is traditionally begin with a joyful procession in the church with waving of palms or usually called Palaspas. It is also called the Sunday of Passion because it marked the beginning of the Lord's final humiliation (suffering and death on the cross).

Maundy Thursday is also called Holy Thursday. It is recalling the events that took place the night when Jesus was betrayed. The Last Supper of our Lord and His disciple was happened and the washing of the feet. It is also done in the church during the mass.

Good Friday is the solemn remembrance of Jesus' death on the cross. :(

Visita Iglesia is done during thursday and friday. It is filipino catholic traditon where you will visit seven churches or having stations of the cross and giving honor to the Blessed Sacrament.

Great Vigil or Holy Saturday. It is a worship service: First is the Service of Light, Second is Service of Readings, Third is Service of Baptism and the Fourth is Service of the Holy Communion. it syas that great vigil is the richest and most pwerful liturgy of the Christian year because it gather God's people to celebrate the great paschal mystery -- Jesus Christ's passage from death to life for our salvation.

Fasting and abstinence is important in this Holy Week....Refrain from eating meat. Abstain from eating too much. Try to reflect for time to time and do penance.. PRAY....

She is a very busy person but can manage her time in studying.

my Field Study is over

Thank God I survived in my Field Study. I made it far. I've learned a lot in the actual field though it is purely observation in the class but still I learned a lot from the teachers and from the students.

Through my Field Study book I recall what I have studied in my professional subjects. I learned to be an industrious, hardworking, and dedicated person. It made me realized that being a teacher is a noble profession and it is a vocation. Never in my entire observation I give up this course, even though my resource teacher discouraged me to take this profession because it is a difficult task with big responsibilities. But still I insist to follow my goal, to follow my path where I love to be.

My Field Study is over and My Practice teaching is near. Last summer I was so excited to have my Field Study but I experience lot of difficulties during my observations but still I survived, got high grades because of my perseverance, I learned many things in and out of school. I learned to improve in my studies.

How about in my Practice Teaching?
Will I survive?.. will I experience more challenges and more difficult tasks than in my field study?...
